障害者はhandicapped people とは言わない
ハンディキャップという言葉は、直接的なので
the people with disabilities
が、今一番使われているようです。
他には、
the physically charennged people
これも挑戦する人という意味で、使われてます。
the physically disabled people
the phyisically handicapped people
この表現は直接的なので謹んだほうがいいようです。
「障害者は、住宅に応募できます」
A person with disabilities can apply for housing .
「障害者に対する家庭内暴力は禁止されるでしょう」
It shall be prohibited to commit domestic violence against the people with disabilities.
しかし
障害者用駐車スペースは、婉曲表現を必要としないので
handicapped parking
desabled paraking
と、表示されてています。
今、パラリンピック真っ最中、パラリンピックを見るとスポーツの原点を考えさせられます。
皆楽しそうにやっています。
そして、みている私もどちらを応援するという気持ちがなくなります。
たとえ日本選手でも、相手も応援しています。
スポーツは、競い合うというより楽しむものなのですね。
フィリピンの物価
今日は、日本は生活するには生活費が高いですか。
が、チャレンジ2の問題でした。
フィリピンと比べたら、それは比較にならない高さだと思います。
首都のマニラでアルバイトをしようと思えば時給は100円くらいですし、大卒の初任給が2万円くらいと言われてます。
それでも1ヶ月生活をするわけですから、物価は安いのでしょうね。
それで生活できれば、問題はないような気がしますが、海外に行ったりすると価値観が変わりそうな気がします。
私がこんな格安でレアジョブを受けられるのは、この物価の差のおかげです。
日本人の先生に毎日25分レッスンを受けたら、10倍払わなければならないでしょう。
日本の今の経済力に感謝です。
でも、こんなことがいつまでできるのがわかりませんね。
そう思うと、今のレッスンを大切にしなければいけません。

今日は初めて受けた優しいAmie先生。
学校の先生をしていたというだけあって、聞きやすかったです。
音質もビデオも発音もよかったです。
また受けたい先生です。
今日のスクリプト
I’ve traveled to countries all over the world, and I have to say that Peru is definitely one of the most affordable. The bus fares here are dirt cheap, man! You won’t believe how far you can travel with only a little bit of money. Last week, I traveled to several tourist attractions by bus. At the end of the day, I still had plenty of money to spend on food. Also, the food doesn’t cost a fortune! I can give you a list of awesome restaurants if you want. Some are pretty far from here, though. Just avoid the taxis. The fare will cost you an arm and a leg!
This is a great city to live in! One of the things I love about it is the food. They have some of the best dishes I’ve ever tasted! Also, food here is dirt cheap—if you know which places to go to. I would advise first-timers not to eat at fancy restaurants near their hotel. The dishes at those restaurants cost a fortune! Explore a little and go to the side streets. I love life here, but one thing I miss about my home country is the nightlife. Getting into the best clubs here would cost you an arm and a leg! I’d rather spend my money on food, not club cover charges.
